(Posted 08th March 2019)
Zimbabwe’s Minister for Transport and Infrastructure Development, Mr. Joe Matiza, was earlier this week quoted in the local media as having said that a delegation from Ethiopian Airlines will be visiting Harare later this month to discuss a cooperation between Africa’s leading airline group and the Zimbabwean government, aimed at the revival of Air Zimbabwe.
The meeting was lined up when on the sidelines of the African Union Summit in Addis Ababa last month President Emmerson Mnangagwa met with Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Tewolde Gebremariam.
Once a deal has been agreed and an MoU been signed, is Ethiopian Airlines expected to assist Air Zimbabwe in areas of aircraft acquisition, aircraft maintenance and training.
Ethiopian Airlines has been progressively spreading their wings from Addis Ababa to Western and Southern Africa with partnerships like ASKY, Malawian Airlines, Ethiopian Mozambique.
