The prestigious Air Cargo News Awards took place in the UK on Thursday night with 15 companies walking away with a trophy.
More than 240 people attended the 39th awards ceremony that was this year presented by writer and comedian Dominic Holland at the Hilton London Syon Park.
Companies were able to win an award by writing an entry for the judged categories or by scoring the highest number of votes in the regional airline awards and the Cargo Airline of the Year Award.
Company submissions were judged by an esteemed panel of industry experts.
In the judged categories, the Air Cargo Environment Award was won by Worldwide Flight Services.
The judges also highly commended Envirotainer and CargoAi.
Qatar Airways Cargo was named the winner of the Air Cargo Pharma Award.
The judges highly commended Etihad Cargo in this category.
The winner of the Best Freighter Operator category was Etihad Cargo.
Avianca Cargo was highly commended in this category.
Changi Airport was recognised as the Cargo Hub of the Year, which was sponsored by Etihad Cargo, and the judges highly commended Hong Kong International Airport.
The Air France KLM Martinair Cargo-sponsored Ground Handler of the Year award was won by dnata.
Asia Airfreight Terminal was highly commended by the judges in this category.
The Air Cargo Charter Project of the Year was this year won by Chapman Freeborn.
The deugro group was also highly commended in this category.
The GSSA of the Year award, sponsored by American Airlines Cargo, went to FlyUs Aviation Group.
The judges highly commended Network Airline Services.
Etihad Cargo won the Carousel Logistics-sponsored Innovation Award – Digital.
Meanwhile, the Innovation Award – Product was scooped by Dronamics. This award was sponsored by Brussels Airport.
Voted for winners
In the voted-for categories, Ethiopian Airlines was crowned Cargo Airline of the Year 2023, sponsored by FlyUs Aviation Group.
Moving to the regional winners, Ethiopian Airlines also won the Awery Aviation Software-sponsored Best Cargo Airline – Africa award.
Avianca Cargo took the Network Aviation-sponsored Best Cargo Airline – Americas award.
Turkish Cargo won the Best Cargo Airline – Europe trophy, which was sponsored by dnata.
The Best Cargo Airline – Middle East was won by Emirates SkyCargo.
The Best Cargo Airline – Asia prize was scooped by Cathay Cargo.
For the voted-for awards, shipper and freight forwarder readers were asked to vote on the Air Cargo News website, over a two-month period, for the airline that provides the best overall customer experience and service in each region.
