News have emerged that the European Union’s Air Safety List, commonly referred to as the ‘Blacklist’ has now seen Air Tanzania added, making Tanzania the 10th African country to appear on this notorious list.

It goes to show that spending mega money on the acqusition of new aircraft is no guarantee that the airline, at least by European standards, is considered safe as those airlines and countries listed are cited for serious concerns over aviation safety and aviation oversight issues.
Air Tanzania, while the airline remains on this list, has been banned from flights into the EU but also from overflights over EU airspace.
