Eurowings Discover has announced the increase of their daily flights between Frankfurt and Windhoek from seven to ten overall. The airline also announced their planned return to Victoria Falls from the end of March.
Eurowings Discover is theLufthansa Group’s long-haul leisure airline – Eurowings in turn serves short and medium haul leisure destinations – while also changing the flights to the two destinations from seasonal to year-round.
The airline offers three weekly direct connections on an Airbus A330, departing Frankfurt on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, to Victoria Falls with a short stopover in Windhoek, with return flights operating on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
The Airport Company of Zimbabwe said the move to change the Victoria Falls service to year-round was due to high demand and the destination’s growing popularity among tourists. Zimbabwe Tourism has gone into overdrive since late last year to promote the destination not just across Africa but also in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the Americas.
Eurowings Discover was granted fifth freedom rights from both Zimbabwe and Namibia, which permits it to uplift passengers from Namibia to Zimbabwe vice versa.
