MUSICAL INTERLUDES AT #FANCOURT

Better known for its three championship golf courses, including South Africa’s number 1, and its famous hospitality at the Fancourt Manor House as well as at the main hotel, has Fancourt however also other qualities in store to attract not just golfers but lovers of good music too.
For classical music enthusiasts, there is a concert in the making which is, absolutely, not to be missed. Guests can indulge in a melodious afternoon filled with enchanted moments as the Trio de Musique perform a collection of their most loved music on the 05th of August. The concert will take place at Fancourt in keeping with their annual Classic Concert Series, highlighting the resort’s continued commitment to local talent and art.
The Trio de Musique consists of three local masterclass musicians: Thomas de Bruin on the Flute, Ariella Caira on the Cello and Albert Combrink on the Piano.
South African born Thomas de Bruin, founder of this successful group, saw his career start when he participated in national music competitions whilst in school. Afterwards he obtained his “Degré fin d’etude” at the National Conservatory of Lyon in France and he completed his BMUS performance degree at the University of Pretoria, as well as a Teacher’s Licentiate at UNISA. He has proven to be a versatile performer who travels nationally and has performed with various groups as well as solo.
Arielle Caira started taking cello lessons at the age of nine, initially with Gillian Knight and later with Anmari van der Westhuizen. She sculpted her career at Beau Soleil, leading the cello section in the Senior Strings ensemble and as a member of the Beau Soleil string quartet. Ariella joined the National Youth Orchestra for three years during her high-school days and was accepted to study Theatre and Performance in 2005 at The University of Cape Town, graduating with Honours in 2008. Currently the official cellist of the band Sterling EQ, she has also collaborated with many local artists.
With a MMUS in Piano Performance at Natal University as well as three UNISA Licentiates: Piano Performance, Piano Accompaniment and Teaching, Albert Combrink has received masterclasses from international pianists such Graham Johnson and Martino Tirimo. He has won many music competitions and made his concerto debut with the NPO at the age of 18. Since then he has performed at major centres throughout the country as a soloist, accompanist and chamber musician
The musical celebration will start at 12:30 and the entry fee of R250 per person includes a welcome drink as well as a snack platter.
