NEW AIRLINK TO BENEFIT TRAVELERS WITH RELIABLE AND AFFORDABLE FLIGHTS
(Posted 05th December 2019)
During an event hosted today, 05th of December by the airline at Joshua Nkomo International Airport, Bulawayo, prior to the first departure from Bulawayo to Johannesburg, members of the airline’s management acknowledged the support received from key stakeholders, industry leaders and members of Zimbabwe’s travel sectors.
Airline representatives acknowledged during their respective engagements that the new international direct route would not have been possible without the support, encouragement and guidance received from the Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Environment, Tourism and Hospitality Industry, the Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe, the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority, the Zimbabwe Airport Authority, the City Council of Bulawayo, the Bulawayo Publicity Association, the Beautiful Bulawayo Trust, local Captains of Industry, members of the Trade and Hospitality industry and multiple travel communities.
The event was attended by the Mayor of the City of Bulawayo, His Worship, Cllr. Solomon Mguni, members of corporate Zimbabwe and Travel Trade partners.
The new Fastjet direct route from Joshua Nkomo International Airport will increase Fastjet Zimbabwe’s international schedule to OR Tambo International Airport, a known gateway to Africa with 11 additional flight frequencies from Bulawayo per week added to our current International schedule.
The 1 hour 20 minute flight schedule provides a much-needed full day link between the two cities, with convenient morning and evening flights from both cities every weekday and, presently, one evening flight on Sundays. The flight timings on offer provide for productive business travel for passengers.
In closing did the Chief Executive Officer Mr. Joao Sousa say: “You have waited patiently for this new service and together with our team we have worked tirelessly not to let you down. Please continue supporting our brand and encourage your families, friends and business associates to support us too. Without you we have no business, we hope that our involvement makes your lives a little easier”.
