Five days and counting as Brussels Airlines gears up to Mumbai launch

MUMBAI FLIGHTS ADD ANOTHER CONTINENT TO BRUSSELS AIRLINES’S GLOBAL NETWORK

The arrival of a tenth Airbus A330 aircraft has allowed the final touches to be put into place for Brussels Airlines to commence their long awaited flights to Mumbai, India’s undisputed commercial capital. Configured with three classes, the award winning business class which feature some of the best seats in the skies, the more recently launched Economy Privilege Class where guests on board enjoy much more legroom and a greater seat recline – besides being offered bubbly – and the airline’s economy class which has convinced travelers from across the world every time they fly with SN.

The 30th of March 2017 will be a historic day for Brussels Airlines, as the airline sets sail for India for the very first time in its history, connecting it to Brussels Airport, and via there to its European, African and North American destinations.

The flight schedule consists of day flights to Mumbai on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday and the flights depart in the morning and arrive late in the evening in Mumbai’s Chattrapathi Shivaji International Airport. The return flights leave Mumbai from the modern terminal 2 on Monday,Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday night and arrives in Brussels early the next morning.

Thanks to this flight schedule, passengers can connect smoothly to many European, North American and African destinations. The Mumbai-Brussels flights connect smoothly to Brussels Airlines flights to London Heathrow, Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Bristol, Geneva, Paris, Lyon, Toulouse, Stockholm, Milan, Madrid and the intercontinental flights to New York, Toronto, Washington and 19 African destinations including Entebbe with five weekly flights and Kigali with six weekly flights one of which extends to Bujumbura.

Said the airline’s CEO Bernard Gustin on the occasion: ‘With India, we add an important market to our hub. After the departure of a major Indian player out of Brussels earlier this year, we take our responsibility as the national carrier and we create additional employment for our country. The opening of the Mumbai route will lead to 200 additional jobs at Brussels Airlines and will have a positive impact on our suppliers. By next season, we offer the diamond- and travel industry direct flights, which is an important investment in our network expansion, but also in the economic relations between Belgium and India

Thanks to a collaboration with Star Alliance partner Air India, Brussels Airlines passengers can connect seamlessly on domestic flights to other Indian cities and regions. The Brussels-Mumbai-Brussels flight schedule will allow connections to many European, African and American destinations in the Brussels Airlines network with short connection times.
