Tanzania Airport Authority communicated implementation of “NEW SECURITY FEE” to all air operators operating in and out of The United Republic of Tanzania vide Aeronautical Information Circular (AIC) 6/2018 which was issued on 29th June 2018.
This was followed by stakeholders meeting held on 14th September 2018 and a final implementation date was agreed: Sale of tickets from 1st October 2018 are subject to Security Fee as stipulated in AIC 6/2018.
Auric Air Services Ltd has absorbed the cost of “Security Fee” for tickets booked/issued before 1st March 2019. This isirrespective of travel date. Tickets booked/issued before 1st March 2019 will not attract security fee irrespective of travel date. All new bookings as well as amendments to existing made effective 1st March 2019 will attract Security fee of:
- $2.00 from TAA Airports for passengers travelling within Tanzania
- $5.00 from TAA Airports for passengers travelling across the Tanzanian border
Security Fee is ONLY APPLICABLE for departures from TAA/ZAA Owned Airports.

Auric Air Services Ltd is glad to announce: We are extending our 1st June 2019 to 31st May 2020 Price list to 31st December 2020. Our price list that comes into effect on 1st June 2019 is now Valid Up Until 31st December 2020 (unless there is drastic change in fuel prices and/or new taxes are introduced by the Government).
Our future price list will henceforth be from January to December (1st January of the year to 31st December of the year). |

Around about the same implementation time in June last year CASSOA suggested a similar fee be implemented on air tickets to finance the regional safety body. Tanzania seems to be spearheading this. I believe it was $2 though and not $5 for cross boarder flights.
