EMIRATES ANNOUNCES EXPANSION OF AIRBUS A380 NETWORK TO FOUR MORE DESTINATIONS IN EARLY 2016
(Posted 18th December 2015)
Travelers from Emirates’ East Africa destinations Entebbe, Nairobi and Dar es Salaam can in 2016 look forward to four more current destinations out of Dubai being upgraded to Airbus A380 flights.
The airline has now confirmed that Birmingham in the UK from March 27th, Prague and Taipei from the 01st of May and Barcelona from 01st of June will see the currently used B777 aircraft type replaced by the world’s largest passenger aircraft, the Airbus A380.
The double decker plane is said to be one of the quietest and most comfortable in the skies and the currently used three class version offers extensive recreational facilities for passengers flying in First and Business Class.
However, like the route to Copenhagen since the 01st of December will Birmingham and Taipei be served with a newly introduced two class version of the Airbus A380, which offers 58 seats in Business and 557 seats in Economy class due to different demand patterns.
The addition of these four more A380 destinations within the first five months of next year will further increase the appeal Emirates already has for travelers from our region, which is served exclusively by wide body aircraft enroute to Dubai, from where then more and more countries and cities can be reached using the A380.
Emirates is the world’s largest A380 operator and has an initial 140 or these aircraft ordered, more than 70 of which are now already flying Dubai’s colours into the world. There is increased speculation when Airbus will announce the development of an A380NEO, a condition made by Emirates before adding further orders for this giant aircraft.
