Four Points by Sheraton Kampala – a Caribbean lunch delights my taste buds

(Posted 11th September 2023)

I took the opportunity to check out the new Four Points by Sheraton hotel in Kampala a few days ago, which finally opened its doors to the public last week.
Having stayed at both Four Points by Sheraton in Nairobi (Hurlingham and JKIA), I can only attest to the high quality of the room furnishings as well as the room layout and size, for standard rooms – which in many other hotels would no doubt be called ‘superior’, de luxe rooms and suites.
I am planning to stay in the near future for a weekend to check out the actually stay experience but for this visit decided, after being courteously shown the rooms by one of their staff, to have lunch at their roof top ‘El Jefe’ restaurant, intrigued by their main food theme being Caribbean.

I was not disappointed!!!
Having missed breakfast that morning I chose a 5 course meal, consisting of:

Sopa de mariscos el langosta

Jerk Chicken Tacos

Cangrejo el pastel

Puerto Rican Salmon

Churros

The soup was a great opener for the meal, the chicken tacos – I had one bagged to take home with me – were sublimely spiced, the prawns intermediate course equally delighted my taste buds and the Puerto Rican Salmon was simply delicious, even if a shade too well done.
The Churros also went in part into the take away bag as there were just too many of them and I did not want a single one to go to waste.

After lunch I had a look at the meeting rooms, on the ground and first floor and have no doubt that the new Four Points by Sheraton will be a winner in Kampala and will give some of the old and tired competition not just a run for their money but outpace them.
