AFTER FRANCE, BELGIUM AND SWITZERLAND IT IS GERMANY NEXT FOR REUNION TOURISM

Reunion Tourism continues to work the hugely important German market, this time in cooperation with leading long haul tour operators, to train staff from travel agencies to become more conversant with the various tourism attractions of the island.
During the last week of August were over 30 agents inducted into the finer details of vacations on the Ile de la Reunion in the Duesseldorf area when IRT in conjunctions with operators like Iguana Reisen, Consul Weltreisen, Vollmer Spezial Reisen, AfricanWorld Reisen and others showcased what makes Reunion different and what activities are available for tourist visitors to the resorts on the shores of the Indian Ocean. On completion of the training sessions were participants awarded certificates of competence and given door stickers to show the public that this particular agency was fully equipped to deal with enquiries and sell Reunion holidays.
Through this action, the IRT tried to meet several objectives:
- increase the awareness and visibility of the island on the German market;
- increase sales by German travel professionals
- inform travel professionals about the destination and show the attractions of the island;
- sustain professional contacts and support in sales and programming.
