#Goma is the scene of another air accident

SOUTH AFRICAN AIR FORCE PLANE IN BODGED LANDING AT GOMA’S AIRPORT BUT LUCKY ESCAPE FOR ALL ON BOARD

A South African military aircraft of C130 make suffered a bodged landing at Goma’s airport, resulting in a brief fire which however was extinguished by the airport fire brigade.
On board were 59 military personnel and 8 crew and all escaped without major injuries from the aircraft, once it came to a standstill off the runway.
Showing the registration mark of ‘403’ was the MSN established as 3750, subsequently found to be built in 1963.
The military personnel on board is part of the UN’s MONUSCO mission, which has been trying to keep the peace in this volatile region of the Congo. The flight originated in the town of Beni.
