On Saturday 25th July 2015 Colobus Conservation hosted a Progressive Dinner Fundraiser and WOW – what a night!
We are delighted to say that the evening was a huge success. A grand total of 42 diners moved around 18 Diani venues eating each course of their three course meal in a different location with a different group of co-diners. With military precision all diners arrived at their dining venues on time and without getting lost, all hosts did themselves proud producing a variety of delicious meals, we made new friends, compared meal experiences and celebrated late into the night at the after party. In total the evening raised a massive KSh276,500 (£2,000) for Colobus Conservation.
At the end of the evening the diners scored their hosts marks out of 10 for each of their courses. The category for best starter was (embarrassingly) won by organisers Keith and Andrea. The best main course category was won by Phil and Leah who served roast pork with all the trimmings. While the best dessert category was a tie between Diani House and Arty of Sand Island, Tiwi. All winners were awarded with glasses kindly donated by Johari Glass.
We would like to thank all the sponsors who donated generously to our cause. Special thanks go to Tommo and Jenni for dreaming up this concept, helping to raise sponsorship money, organise the event and produce the all important map that prevented anyone getting lost, Pennie for securing sponsorship money, Cecilia for the poster design that attracted diners to the event and of course to Paul for hosting an amazing after party!
Finally, a heartfelt thank you to each and every host and diner – without them the night simply would not have happened. We can not wait until the next one! |
