IATA HANDS AIR ZIMBABWE IOSA CERTIFICATION

There is finally some good news again for Air Zimbabwe, the embattled national airline of Zimbabwe, which has been in the news of late for all the wrong reasons.
IATA has now concluded their operational safety audit and from reports received has Air Zimbabwe passed the audit and is now IOSA certified.
The airline presently only operates a Boeing B767 while seven other aircraft are undergoing maintenance or have been out of service for a while.
Among those are two Airbus A320, two Boeing B737-200’s one of which should return to service soon, two Chinese built MA60’s and another B767.
According to previous reports is the airline also due to receive two ex Malaysia Airways B777’s to resume operations again on a wider scale, but no final delivery information or details of when the Embraer ERJ145 – presently parked in Harare – will enter service could be received, not from the airline directly nor from other regular aviation sources in Harare.
