SEYCHELLES TOURISM ACADEMY GRADUATES 212 STUDENTS

Earlier this week did the Seychelles Tourism Academy hold a graduation ceremony, which was graced by the presence of Vice President Danny Foure and the Minister for Tourism and Culture Alain St. Ange. Among the 212 students were also 10 post graduate ‘sommeliers’ who underwent the course which was launched two years ago, under which the 10 earned a Post Graduate Certificate. The other 202 graduates had completed courses in Restaurant & Bar Services, Food Production, Tourism & Tour Guiding, Reception Operations and Services, Wellness and Spa and Accommodation Operations & Services.
The Seychelles Tourism Academy is now also gearing up towards the final push to complete phase 1 of the ongoing expansion and modernization project, which will see the institution get better and larger facilities allowing them to teach more students.
Mr. Flavien Joubert, the Principal of STA, told the students in his graduation address: ‘As you move to take your first industry position, have positive attitudes, be hard working, be honest and be respectful to your working colleagues. Be respectful of rules and regulations, be respectful of the code of conducts and of procedures of your company.The Seychelles Tourism Academy ensures graduates continue to be trained with graduate learning. Our in-service training department has created a new entity to offer Seychellois tourism professionals’.
The Seychelles Tourism Academy has in recent years established itself as one of Africa’s foremost tourism and hospitality training institutions and cooperates closely with similar academies in Shanghai, Muscat and La Valetta and works hand in hand with the Shannon College where students from the Seychelles have the opportunity to attain a Bachelor Degree in Hospitality Management.
