YAYA HOTEL – THE LATEST ADDITION TO NAIROBI’S GROWING HOSPITALITY SCENE

Perhaps a new trend was started when the owners of the Yaya Towers in the Kilimani / Hurlingham area of Nairobi decided to move from their hitherto proven concept of letting out apartments and residences to a proper hotel operation.
The residences require according to the respective regulations at least a one month lease or occupancy to be let out, making it impossible to use such spaces for just a night or a few days like ordinary hotel suites or hotel rooms.
After researching the market and finding that demand existed for much shorter term stays in their luxurious apartments, did the owners of Yaya then decide to attain all the required hotel licenses and have with immediate effect began to offer as many as 70 apartments, with sizes between 1.000 and over 3.000 square feet, for guests seeking something different for a night or a few as an alternative to a standard hotel room.

All the suites and apartments are fully fitted with luxury amenities to make guests feel at home, with separate bedroom, working and living spaces in the larger apartments. Satellite television, high speed internet connection, 24-hour reception service, ample parking, business services and full laundry services are just a few of the conveniences Yaya Hotel provides for guests. Additionally are on site security and surveillance systems – Yaya Towers operates over 100 CCTV cameras throughout the complex – ensuring guests safety and peace of mind at all times, not only at the hotel but also the parking garage and the extended shopping centre attached to Yaya Hotel.

For guest comfort does Yaya also provide a range of options including a swimming pool, gymnasium, yoga lessons, tennis court and a children’s play area.

Guests of the Yaya Hotel will have direct access to the unique selection of restaurants at the shopping centre which are guaranteed to to provide literally every culinary offering from around the world, more than normal hotels in comparison can do. Diverse restaurants from India, Italy, China, a French brasserie and traditional cafés, there is something to cater to everyone’s palate, taste and pocket, considering the availability of fast food restaurants on site.

Guests can enjoy breakfast at the comfort of their suite or as part of their shopping experience at the Yaya shopping mall.

Conference facilities are available for small groups of up to 30 persons.

In addition can guests also enjoy a bit of inhouse shopping, do some banking, catch up with friends over a cup of coffee or pamper themself with a couple of beauty treatments at outlets available at the shopping centre.

Other apartment complexes and residences are reportedly watching closely how successful this shift into hotel operations will be and it is expected that several others will follow the example set by Yaya Towers and Yaya Hotel to also begin offering hotel services.
