Grumeti Air announces flights from the Serengeti to Kigali

GRUMETI AIR FLIGHTS PERMIT FOR UNIQUE SAFARI COMBINATION OF BIG GAME AND PRIMATES

(Posted 02nd March 2021)

As an important milestone in creating a “luxury network” by connecting all the top destinations in East Africa in an efficient, reliable and professional way, Grumeti Air is proud to announce the addition of the latest jewel to the crown: from June 2021 Kigali (Rwanda) will be connected directly with the Grumeti Reserves and the rest of the Serengeti.

The flight will operate every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and will serve by default only Sasakwa, Seronera, Kogatende and Lamai, in order to guarantee the usual streamlined operation with exact timings.

However, other Serengeti stops may be evaluated on request, on a case by case basis.

The aircraft will leave the Serengeti in the middle of the morning and land in Kigali by 12:00 local time (CAT), returning to the Serengeti in the middle of the afternoon.

Immigration procedures in Tanzania will be carried out in Musoma (MUZ).

For the detailed timings and fares you can download the complete schedule at the bottom of this email.

Additional late afternoon flight from the Serengeti

In combination with the above mentioned Kigali flight we are also adding an additional 16:15 flight, which will be the last flight out of the Serengeti, hence the best option for guests leaving from Kilimanjaro (JRO) with KLM at 21:30 or Qatar, now taking off at 23:25.

Like for Kigali, this flight will operate only on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Fares adjustments

With the release of this schedule update some of the fares have been slightly changed, compared to the previous versions. But worry not! The good news is that all the fares were either reduced or kept as the past season.

Can’t find the destination you need? Talk to us!

We will always try to go the extra mile to stretch our schedule’s backbone and accommodate specific requests, such as additional stops in the Serengeti area or custom-tailored flying times, so do not hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to assist.

However, our commitment remains to offer a service very different from the traditional multi-hop “daladala” flying safari model the market is used to. This is why we will evaluate each additional stop on a case by case basis.

The fares for the extra stops on request can be also found inside the schedule.

Still flying daily, despite COVID-19!

Notwithstanding the obvious challenges ,Grumeti Air has been ensuring all its essential connections in the Serengeti area, even during the unfortunate contraction of travel due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Even now, heading into the low season, we are still operating a daily morning flight into the Serengeti and a daily afternoon flight out of the Serengeti.

The latter could be operated at 14:00 for connections with Ethiopian or at 16:30 for KLM and Qatar.

The actual flight time is decided on a first-come-first-served basis.

In spite of the reduction of the flight frequency, our commitment to offer to our guests the most direct and comfortable connections for an unforgettable flying safari remains unchanged.
