QATAR AIRWAYS DEPLOYS THE AIRBUS A380 TO GUANGZHOU

After London, Paris and Bangkok will the Chinese city of Guangzhou become Qatar Airways’ fourth Airbus A380 destination, significant for the large number of travelers from Africa and East Africa in particular, who are flying there to buy merchandise for their trading businesses.
Daily flights on this aircraft will begin on the 01st of July out of Doha’s Hamad International Airport to which the airline connects passengers out of Entebbe, Kigali, Nairobi, Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar, giving travelers the unique experience to fly on the world’s largest passenger plane in service. The destination is presently served with a Boeing B777.
The A380, configured in three classes, First with 8 seats, Business with 48 seats and Economy with 461 seats, the latter spread over both floors, on the main level with a 3x4x3 layout and on the upper deck with a 2x4x2 layout.
The airline’s Group CEO Mr. Akbar Al Baker commented on the move when he said: ‘This year marks our eighth anniversary of operations in Guangzhou and we are delighted to celebrate this milestone by introducing our bespoke A380 aircraft, re-affirming our long-standing commitment to China. The Pearl River Delta region is one of China’s most vibrant trade and travel hubs and we have witnessed steady passenger growth both to and from Guangzhou over the years. Passengers from Asia can now enjoy their entire journey on our luxurious A380 aircraft when they fly to popular cities such as London and Paris via our state-of-the-art Hamad International Airport in Doha‘.
Notably is Qatar Airways the official airline partner for the Canton Trade Fair in October this year when thousands of travelers, including from Africa, are expected to fly to Guangzhou to attend the show.
