The spotlight was on East Africa in the last days of November, when Pope Francis made his first trip to Africa starting in Kenya and moving on to Uganda. Pope Francis called on the Church and the world to acknowledge the urgency of our environmental challenges and urged all to join him in embarking on a new path; a new path on sustainability of ecology, and respect for God’s creation

We’ve been really busy for the last couple of weeks with lots of events taking place in the region. We’ve had meetings and end of year parties and there are still more coming up. Here’s a little recap of what’s been happening:

After far too many long nights at the office, not to mention waking up at the crack of dawn just to get a head start in replying to the mountain of emails that have accumulated overnight, all of us deserve a bit of a break. But for the Reward Hunter, a weekend at a nearby self-catering cottage simply won’t do. It’s got to be ultra-relaxing, super luxurious and seriously self-indulgent.

Amadeus and Kenya Airways have enjoyed a long-term global distribution partnership for the past 20 years. The two companies have recently extended their partnership and signed a long-term full content agreement that enables the airline to reach Amadeus’ network of travel agencies across the world. Kenya Airways has been recognized as Africa’s best business class airline in World Travel Awards for the last three years.

Elly Kwasi, Products and Solutions Specialist, recently celebrated 3 years at Amadeus EA. Over the years he has made a huge impact in his role, having played a key role in innovating and implementing solutions. He has also learnt a lot regarding Travel Agency behaviour in this region, from dealing with office politics, cross-cultural communication and simple cold calling, to the more complicated consultative selling.
