On Labour Day, we honour the hardworking men and women of Seychelles — the silent strength behind our economy, our communities, and our future. From fishermen and farmers to nurses, teachers, civil servants, entrepreneurs, and every worker in between, your daily struggles and sacrifices do not go unnoticed.
Yet, while we celebrate your contributions, we must also speak the truth: too many Seychellois workers are still underpaid, overburdened, and left behind by a system that favours the privileged few. The rising cost of living, wage disparities, and unfair employment practices are real, and they demand real solutions.
Lalyans Nouvo Sesel stands firmly with you. We are committed to building a Seychelles where every worker is respected, protected, and given a fair chance to thrive. That means:
* Cutting excessive allowances for top officials,
* Reforming pension inequality,
* Ensuring decent wages and working conditions for all,
* And putting people — not politics — at the centre of national progress.
This Labour Day, let us recommit to the values of dignity, solidarity, and justice. Together, we can build a fairer Seychelles — where hard work is rewarded, and no one is left behind.
