Help Virunga’s Scouts Safeguard Congo’s Mountain Gorillas

(Posted 24th April 2023)

Our mountain gorilla conservation efforts are being severely impacted by the latest outbreak of civil war in the southern sector of the Park. As a result, regular monitoring of these incredible creatures was almost fully suspended in 2022 due to active combat in the Mikeno sector.

My love for the Park and the protection of mountain gorillas led me to become a tracker. The current conflict has increased insecurity in the region, especially where the mountain gorillas live, which makes the population vulnerable and limits the ability to monitor it closely.

While funds last, the Big Give Green Match Fund will match all donations made to Virunga National Park.
