KAREN BLIXEN MUSEUM PROVIDES STAGE FOR ‘XPLORE – TRAVEL AND FOOD FAIR’
(Posted 18th September 2015)
A privately organized travel and food fair, ‘Xplore’ will open this weekend at the famous Karen Blixen Museum to showcase a range of services for the Kenyan domestic market.
From posh resorts at the coast, fancy safari camps and lodges in the national parks to privately owned holiday villas, like Forodhani House in Lamu, the range of options will be meeting the expectation of visitors who seek inspiration of where to travel to for the next long weekend.
Also on site will be some of Nairobi’s in demand restaurants offering samples of fine as well as fast foods and of course drinks galore, all against the back drop of the Ngong Hills, on the foot of which Karen Blixen had her farm.
Domestic travel has been the backbone of the country’s tourism industry during the downturn, when foreign tourists stayed away and visitors from across the region are looking at Kenya and in particular the coast for weekend getaways. The ‘Xplore’ show will no doubt provided both information as well as inspiration for those taking their time this coming weekend to go to the Karen suburb of Nairobi.
