Over the past several years, States and the wider aviation community have made significant investments in seamless and contactless passenger processing. These efforts reflect a shared and sustained commitment to managing growing traveller volumes while enhancing the overall travel experience through more efficient, secure, and trusted identity management.
At the centre of these advancements is the integration of innovative technologies, guided by ICAO’s Traveller Identification Programme (TRIP). TRIP has become a global reference point, providing a coherent framework that supports States and industry stakeholders in enhancing the security, facilitation, and interoperability of traveller identity systems.
Building on this collective progress, ICAO is convening the 21st Traveller Identification Programme (TRIP) Symposium from 22 to 24 September 2026 at ICAO Headquarters in Montréal. This global event will continue to drive dialogue, foster collaboration, and advance practical solutions in traveller identification.
The theme for TRIP 2026, “Putting Trust into Practice: Towards Trusted Travel Identity for All,” will guide this year’s discussions. Programme details, speaker announcements, and additional information will be shared in the coming months.
In the meantime, we encourage you to reserve these dates and plan to join us in person to engage directly in the conversations shaping the future of trusted travel identity.
As always, an exhibition running in parallel will enable organizations to showcase their innovative products. The spots in this exhibition are limited and selling out fast. We invite you to inquire about available opportunities by clicking
