NAIROBI’S DUSIT D2 SPA OFFERS SORBET SCRUBS
(Posted 26th February 2016)
To eat or to treat, that will be the question guests to the Dusit D2 in Nairobi will have to ask themselves as the hotel group has launched a new series of treatments in their Spa’s for several of their hotels, Nairobi included.
Sorbet scrubs seem the be the latest craze introduces into Spa’s, not long after for Valentine’s Day the same hotel offered ladies to be covered, at least in part, in chocolate.
Sweet temptations, normally enjoyed in culinary terms, now seem to have been used for Spa treatments and several sorbet combinations are on offer to get scrubbed with.
Wrote the hotel’s PR consultant when passing the information to me – which admittedly left me baffled – to give an overview of the new Spa menu:
For the summer holidays, Devarana Spa has prepared you to enjoy sunbath and maritime breeze with less sunburned worry through its sorbet scrub recipe. This brand new recipe scoops up your skin with the juicy cooling sensation at temperature around 15 – 20 degree Celsius while refreshing your dull summer skin with its potent mixture of potatoes and citrus fruit such as strawberry, kiwi and orange & lemon.
Potatoes and citrus fruit have many therapeutic benefits to naturally beautify your skin including calming your skin after excessive sun exposure. Potatoes, high in vitamin C, vitamin B6, and potassium, instantly improve the skin tone and tighten the skin pores. Citrus fruit helps whitening skin and brings summer bliss into your day. Your skin texture will be refined and left soft and supple with a radiant summer glow.

My personal verdict, were I offered this treatment, I’d very likely devour the sorbets instead of having them scrubbed all over my body, but hey, everyone to her or his own desires. I for sure cannot let good food go to waste, though others may argue that a good scrub is never wasted. Further thoughts, best for all concerned, shall remain entirely private.
