ISLAND DEVELOPMENT COMPANY ADDS ANOTHER AIRCRAFT TO SERVE OUTER ISLANDS

The arrival from South Africa of a Dornier 228 twin engine turboprop aircraft brings to four overall the fleet of the Island Development Company, a parastatal company formed nearly 35 years ago for the purpose to develop and supply the outer islands of the Seychelles archipelago.
Registered as S7-MAC was the aircraft overhauled and in a state as new when delivered to the IDC base at the international airport on Mahe and will commence commercial flight operations when the formalities with the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority have been completed.
The aircraft, operated by two pilots, can uplift as many as 18 passengers or else carry a cargo of almost 2 metric tons weight and still operate safely in and out of the often very short airstrips on the islands.
IDC aircraft are, besides the domestic fleet of Air Seychelles which now comprises of 6 DHC Twin Otter aircraft, and besides private charter operators like Zil Air, used to fly tourists on charters to some of the more remote islands where they stay on exclusive resorts, though the main purpose of the fleet is to afford swift transport for Seychellois citizens who have either business on the outer islands or else live there and return after visiting Mahe.
Meanwhile, in a related development, has the daughter of the Seychelles Tourism Minister Alain St. Ange graduated with a double degree from Griffith University in Australia, as per the details received:

Michelle St. Ange of the Seychelles has this morning graduated from Griffith University on the Gold Coast in Australia with a Bachelor of Laws with Honours, and a Bachelor of Psychological Science. She had been awarded the Griffith Award for Academic Excellent for 2012, and again in 2014, thereby placing her in the top 5% of students at the University, across all campuses.
It is confirmed that Michelle St. Ange has now been officially been offered a Ph.D. opportunity from Griffith University.
Alain St. Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture was on the Gold Coast in Australia and attended the Graduation Ceremony. Michelle St. Ange plans on returning to the Seychelles in January to enter the workforce.
