The Red Volta East and West Forest Reserves in the Nabdam District of the Upper East Region are under serious threat following reports of widespread illegal farming, cattle grazing, and sand winning that have damaged trees and endangered wildlife. According to forestry officials, the protected area, known to serve as an elephant corridor, has become a hotspot for environmental degradation caused by human encroachment.
