Important Update: Temporary Closure of Amboseli Main Airstrip (ASV)
Air Kenya wishes to inform you that the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) has officially notified us of the temporary closure of the Amboseli Main Airstrip from March 9, 2026 to May 8, 2026. This closure is due to flooding caused by recent heavy rainfall in the area.
During this period, Tawi Airstrip has been designated as the approved alternate airstrip for all operations. Both KCAA and the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) are closely monitoring the situation and will advise once Amboseli Main Airstrip is safe for aircraft operations. Once clearance is received, AirKenya will promptly resume flights and communicate updates to our trade partners.
