INDABA reschedules to take place ahead of South African elections

MAY 02ND TO 04TH NAMED AS NEW INDABA DATES

(Posted 15th February 2019)

The organizers of INDABA in Durban, clearly aware of the need for damage limitation following the bounced original trade show dates, have now reacted and brought the tourism show forward by a week.
It will now take place between 02nd and 04th of May this year.
President Ramaphosa threw a major spanner in the works of one of Africa’s most popular tourism trade shows when he set the election date exactly in the middle of the original INDABA dates, leaving the organizers scrambling for damage limitation.
Exhibitors and buyers but also attendees will now have to try and have their airline tickets rebooked, hoping for no extra charges, book their hotel space afresh and reschedule other meetings they may have had over the new dates.
It is understood that some attendees have already indicated they will not go to Durban after the cancellation of the initial dates while seeking alternatives where to exhibit and promote their services.
