IATA is happy to invite media practitioners to attend the annual IATA Global Media Day, taking place at their executive offices in Geneva on Thursday, 08th December 2016. For many this will be the first opportunity to hear from Alexandre de Juniac, who took over as IATA’s Director General and CEO last month.
Global Media Day is also an opportunity to learn in detail about the historic environmental agreement among the member states of the International Civil Aviation Organization to implement a market-based measure that will support airlines’ efforts to stabilize CO2 emissions with carbon neutral growth.
IATA is preparing a full-day program with the following highlights:
Report on the industry from Alexandre de Juniac, IATA Director General and CEO
Updated 2016-2017 industry economic and traffic outlook with Brian Pearce, IATA Chief Economist
Safety and Security updates
Developments concerning unruly passengers
New Distribution Capability (NDC) implementation
Single European Sky and airport slots
IATA is also making arrangements for some special Geneva-style hospitality that evening and hopes that media practitioners will be able to join the IATA team along with Alexandre de Juniac for this event.
Please register for Global Media Day online. Preferential rates have been arranged at the Starling Geneva Hotel. We also have a limited budget to help with travel arrangements. Please let us know if we can be of assistance.
We will be following up regarding your participation. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact any of the IATA Corporate Communications team whose contact details are noted below.
