#KILIMANJARO TO VICTORIA FALLS – IS A NEW ROUTE IN THE MAKING?
(Posted 22nd February 2019)
Usually well informed sources close to the Zimbabwe Civil Aviation Authority have moments ago suggested that, effective 19th of July this year, Air Tanzania appears to be planning flights, three times a week, between Kilimanjaro International Airport and Victoria Falls.
Linking the two tourism destinations – Kilimanjaro is the main hub for Tanzania’s Northern Circuit which includes the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara, Tarangire and Arusha National Park – and the iconic Victoria Falls, shared between Zimbabwe and Zambia, will provide a major boost for multi stop African safaris.
Tourists will be able, once the route has been officially confirmed, to go on Safari in East Africa, then fly to Victoria Falls to see not just the falls of the mighty Zambezi River but also visit nearby parks, and then continue their trip either to South Africa or other neighbouring countries.
Air Tanzania has not yet made an official announcement but, given the level of seniority at the ZCAA, from where the information came, this might be expected over the next couple of days.
Meanwhile, for regular and breaking aviation news, ATCNews.org is the one place where the information appears first.
