KAMPALA SERENA ALL SET FOR SWAHILI FUSION NIGHT
(Posted 24th June 2014)
The culinary battle for supremacy is now on in earnest, as the Kampala Serena has come out of a lull of sorts with the launch of the Swahili Fusion Night which takes place this coming Saturday.
The programme offers ‘A journey through the Coast of Kenya and Tanzania’ with a rich mix of Swahili culture and cuisine.
Earlier this week did the Kampala Serena host a ‘Whiskey and Cigar Night’ offering a range of premium whiskey brands for tasting, followed by a dinner and then the opportunity to light up Cuban cigars.
Kampaleans have expressed their delight that the city’s two leading hotels are now actively engaged in promoting culinary events to improve F&B standards.
In a related development has Kenya’s TV celebrity Chef Ali expressed his interest to do one or several cooking shows in Kampala and it is left to be seen which of the two hotels will be bagging that event to provide the logistics and allow their kitchen to be turned into a TV studio for a day before then reaching a national audience through NTV, which is in Kenya already regularly featuring Ali’s shows, popularizing eating out and enjoying fine cuisine.
