It will be all about food again in Nairobi when the 2016 Restaurant Week goes underway

Nairobi Restaurant Week 2016

(Posted 15th January 2016)

The third edition of the Nairobi Restaurant Week is going underway on the 28th of January and will run until the 07th of February, giving food aficionados plenty of opportunities to sample the creations of some of Nairobi’s finest eateries.

At a cost between Kenya Shillings 1.500 and Kenya Shillings 2.500 will diners enjoy lunches and dinners across 50 participating hotels and restaurants, some of them located in five star hotels while other eateries have independently won awards during past food weeks held in Kenya’s capital.

While no reservations are required for any of the venues does experience suggest that those seeking tables in the most fancied locations better do reserve a table, both for lunch and dinner, to avoid disappointment.

The Nairobi Serena’s acclaimed Mandhari Restaurant is as much part of the 50 as are Lucca’s and 88 at the Villa Rosa Kempinski or the famous Thorn Tree at the Sarova Stanley, all four favourites of this correspondent when in Nairobi.
All three Mediterraneo Restaurants in Nairobi are in the line up alongside the Lord Delamare Terrace of the Norfolk as is the Ocean Basket in Westlands, another personal favourite for the wide variety of Sushi and excellent seafood served.

Nairobi’s renowned meat eaters favourite, the Carnivore, is also in the lineup though sister establishment Tamarind is sadly absent from the list the organizers provided earlier in the day.
