BIRDSTRIKE CAUSE OF JAMBOJET’S SCHEDULE CHALLENGES IN RECENT DAYS

Jambojet, the Kenya Airways owned low cost carrier, has confirmed earlier this afternoon that services to and from Mombasa will resume after repairs have been carried out on one of their aircraft.
The plane sustained damage as a result of a bird strike and had to undergo major repairs before being returned into service.
Said the airline in a statement:
Jambojet has yesterday also taken delivery of another Bombardier Q400NextGen aircraft and a second such brand new plane will arrive in Nairobi in just a few days. Both aircraft, with an all economy cabin configuration, will be deployed on high demand routes ahead of and during the festive season when record numbers of Kenyans are expected to travel to the airline’s coast destinations Lamu, Malindi, Mombasa and Ukunda.
