MORE FLIGHTS AS JAMBOJET UPS THE GAME

More flights between Nairobi and Mombasa, from the present 22 up to 31 under the new schedule released yesterday but also to other Jambojet destinations, have served notice of intent to competitors that the Kenya Airways LCC subsidiary is ready to take the battle of the skies over Kenya to the next level.
Malindi flights will go up from 13 to 16 a week, operated in code share with Kenya Airways which ceded the route to Jambojet, while services from Nairobi to Eldoret and Kisumu are due to go up to 20 a week, translating into (almost) three daily services.
A similar development will take place for flights from Nairobi to Ukunda, where the KAA airfield is just minutes away from the award winning Diani beaches.
Jambojet is also the only airline connecting Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport with the Lamu archipelago, flying at least twice a day to Manda Airport.
Jambojet has at the end of the last financial year posted its first profit since the company was launched over two and a half years ago and is, given the rise in passenger numbers, expected to do even better during the current financial year.
Despite often heavy critique on the company’s social media platforms about delays and staff attitude has the airline nevertheless taken market share away from their competitors.
Sources close to the airline also rejected criticism that they were not a proper low cost airline, pointing out that for passengers booking early enough or taking advantage of special offers Jambojet offered the best value for money in the Kenyan skies, but that late bookers inevitably had to pay higher fares.
