In another first for Africa did Jovago.com make a mark to be featured on the Google Travel Platform. This new development is meant to optimize online accessibility for hotels in Africa as well as create convenience for travelers.

Africa’s leading hotel-booking website Jovago has been incorporated into the renowned Google Hotels Ads. This brand new strategic collaboration aims to ease the process of hotel search and reservation for travelers in Africa. The cooperation will allow Google users access to the best deals at any time and at their convenience, through the Jovago.com platform thus granting a diverse range of users the chance to find and book hotels across the African continent.

Commenting on the partnership,Jovago CEO Paul Midy noted that, ‘Google is a giant and the hotel finder metasearch is a remarkable and handy tool for travelers around the world looking to make smart and informed decisions when booking hotels‘. This, as he explained is further supported by his company’s 24-hour customer service that ensure all travel queries are attended to on time.

With a vast inventory of 25,000 hotels in Africa, over 15.000 of which are in East Africa, is Jovago’s hotel and resort portfolio accessible to customers both on and offline. As a result of a quantum leap into new technologies in the recent past in Africa is the hospitality and hotel industry now well developed and structured to embrace the online shift even further.

Jovago.com is live on the Google platform, currently featuring about two thousand hotels but more properties will be added from its widening inventory in phases.

Cyrus Onyiego, the Jovago.com Country Manager for Kenya also noted that, ‘with more than 96% of primary travel research taking place online, it is very important for travel agents and service suppliers to re-position themselves on the market chain‘.

Google’s initiative enables a wider range of users to click on the hotel listings directly from the search engine results page and giving them access to Jovago’s properties in Africa. The service is also integrated with Google Maps, which grants the user ability to see the exact location of the selected hotel while doing a price comparison at the same time.

Following the launch of its mobile application – Jovago.com Hotels Booking on the Android platform – its incorporation on the Google platform for hotel search and booking will further improve the user experience and boost the company’s core objective in pushing the hotel business online.
