The 55th Annual General Assembly of AFRAA, the African Airlines Association, promises to be one of the year’s most exciting aviation events.

The meeting will take place in Kampala / Uganda at the Speke Conference Centre in Munyonyo, where national airline Uganda Airlines is the host carrier.

Between the 19th and 21st of November will the who is who of African aviation attend this conference, to map out the industry’s future on the African continent.

While Uganda Airlines is presently preparing to launch their second new destination this month with flights to Lagos / Nigeria, is it broadly expected that the airline will use the AFRAA platform to announce their choice of additional new aircraft. It is understood that the airline’s board of directors and the top management have given their recommendations to the Uganda government and a decision is now expected in the very near future.

Additional destinations in Africa and also on intercontinental routes will require more planes to be able to fly an expanded schedule and all eyes, and ears, will be focusing on Uganda Airlines during the AFRAA AGA to hear about the decision.

ATCNews will as usual report about not just the event and the proceedings but will also keep a close tab on any emerging announcements about the anticipated increase in the Uganda Airlines fleet.
