(Posted 21st May 2017)

The Kampala Serena Hotel was the venue chosen by the Turkish Embassy in Kampala to host an art exhibition and solo performance by Turkish guitarist Kagan Korad last weekend.
Four renowned Turkish artists showed their work, dedicated to the theme ‘Colours of Turkey, the Cradle of Civilisation‘, among them H.E. The Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Uganda Mrs. Sedef Yavuzalp.
She describes herself as a lover of art, inspired by Turkey’s culture and history. Using acrylic paints she has, while in Uganda, focused on the queens and kings of Uganda and Eastern Africa as well as the legendary figures of ancient Turkey.
Her work at the exhibition was supplemented by Mine Ulger, Onder Aydin (www.onderaydin.com), Recep Peker Tanitkan, Hueseyin Yildirim, Sukran Pekmezci and Hassan Pekmezci, all of whom also exhibited part of their works.

The event not only attracted the attention of Uganda’s mainstream media but also once again put the Kampala Serena into the picture as one of if not THE venue for such events in Uganda’s capital city.
In a related development was it learned that the new suites and rooms, which were under construction since last year above the Maisha Spa, are now complete and ready to open, in time for a busy week ahead for all Kampala hotels.
