KENYA AIRWAYS EXTENDS PARTNERSHIP DEAL WITH AMADEUS

Amadeus, a leading technology partner for the global travel industry, and Kenya Airways, the national airline of Kenya, have signed a long-term full content agreement that enables the airline to reach Amadeus’ network of travel agencies across the world.
The agreement provides Amadeus subscribers worldwide with access to the entire range of fares, schedules and availability from Kenya Airways. Users will have access to the same content and under the same conditions as those offered through the airline’s direct distribution channels, seen as a major factor in raking in revenue through this portal.
‘This deal demonstrates our confidence that Amadeus adds value to our business as a technology partner and distribution channel to the global travel industry’ said Ms. Hellen Mwariri, Kenya Airways’ Head of Revenue Management before adding: ‘Travel agencies remain an important sales channel for us, particularly as we grow our business’
Kenya Airways has been recognized as Africa’s best business class airline in World Travel Awards for the last four years after just bagging the fourth consecutive award in a row. This comes on the back drop of fleet renewal investment making it one of the youngest fleets in Africa. The impact of the newly redesigned hub Terminal 1A, also available to KQ’s partner airlines in SkyTeam, will be further strengthened by the global reach through the Amadeus full content agreement.

Kenya Airways and Amadeus have enjoyed a long term global distribution partnership for the two decades already. During that time has the airline implemented different Amadeus solutions including Amadeus Altéa IT suite to manage its reservations, ticketing and departure control processes, ticketing solutions including Electronic Miscellaneous Document and uses Amadeus’ e-Commerce booking technology for its website.
