Kenya Airways and Oman Air ink codeshare deal for Muscat flights

KENYA AIRWAYS AND OMAN AIR TO CODESHARE FLIGHTS BETWEEN NAIROBI AND MUSCAT

(Posted 07th September 2017)

Effective immediately has Kenya Airways put their KQ code on flights operated by Oman Air between Muscat and Nairobi. Oman Air currently operates four services a week between the two capitals, namely on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
Both airlines expressed their satisfaction over the deal which may be extended to also cover other Kenya Airways destinations in Eastern Africa, where Oman Air is not presently flying to and vice versa into the Oman Air network across the Gulf and beyond.
The flights leave Muscat every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 14.50 hrs local time and land in the Kenyan capital at 18.55 hrs local time,
The return flights are then leaving at 00.45 hrs the following day, i.e. Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, landing at 06.50 hrs in time for connections into the fast growing international and regional network of the national airline of the Sultanate of Oman.

Oman Air is using a Boeing B737-800NG in a two class cabin configuration of Business and Economy for the service similar to what Kenya Airways offers.
In a related development is Oman Air leasing two of Kenya Airways’ Boeing B787 Dreamliners since last year, as was reported here at the time.
