Kenya Airways announces the return to service of one of three grounded B787’s

Kenya Airways has confirmed that one of three grounded B787’s – due to supply chain challenges in engine overhauls – will return to service on 22nd July 2025, i.e. in one week’s time.

The remaining two grounded aircraft are due to return to service in September and December this year respectively.

Similar challenges are experienced around the world but also impact airlines in Eastern Africa, beyond Kenya. with both Air Tanzania and RwandAir affected by similar challenges.
