NEW SEYCHELLES – KENYA DEAL WILL BRING NUMBER OF FLIGHTS TO FIVE A WEEK

After signing a new partnership deal between the Seychelles and Kenya, which included the two countries’s tourism boards and Kenya Airways, have news emerged that the present four flights a week between Nairobi and Mahe, the Seychelles’ largest island and home to the international airport, may well be raised to five per week in the near future.
Traffic into the Seychelles has been growing from around the world and connections via Nairobi have been popular as the airline connects much of the African continent but also the Middle East, Far East and Europe with convenient onward connections.
While no date has been set as yet when the fifth frequency will be launched is this expected to happen sooner rather than later as Kenya is keen to build on the newly signed deals which will also permit Kenya Airways to uplift air cargo like meat products and flowers to the archipelago.
Both countries have during the recent state visit by President Faure also agreed to cooperate in extra security measures to prevent piracy to rear its ugly head again – only yesterday was an Indian registered freighter hijacked by Somali ocean terrorists – to promote safer sea lanes and capitalize on increased cruise ship connections between the ports of Victoria and Mombasa.
