KENYA OPEN GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP GETS POSTPONED

The Kenya Open Golf Championship, arguably the country’s top ranked golfing event every year, has been postponed in line with directives given by the Kenyan government.
As Chairman Peter Kanyago’s statement above shows have all relevant partners and sponsors of the event been informed.
While no new date is immediately available is the event expected to be played once the CoronaVirus pandemic has run its course and ATCNews will at that time publish the information.
Kenya does not stand alone in taking such decisions as many countries in Europe too have now banned spectators from sporting events while the Formula 1 Race in Bahrain will reportedly take place but without any spectators around the race course.
Uganda has last week put a ban in conferences which would be attended by international visitors and has in fact issued quarantine orders for a number of nationalities arriving at either the international airport or at land borders while banning in total entry of Chinese, South Korean, Iranian and Italian travelers to prevent the ‘import‘ of the virus.
All East African countries are free of any reported COVID19 cases.
