Just days after a Kenyan registered aircraft crashed in Somalia do reports come in that another 5Y has crashed in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

A Cessna C208B Grand Caravan, registered as 5Y-SPZ, owned and operated by IMI of Kenya, according to reports suffered a tyre burst on landing and subsequently flipped over. The three passengers and two crew of the plane survived the crash though with some minor injuries. The aircraft whoever suffered major damage and given the lack of access to Kasese by road it may well be that the owners could have it declared a write off and abandon the wreckage.

The aircraft had come from Goma and was destined for Kasese / DR Congo.
