Kenya Tourism Board releases detailed 2017 tourism data

#KENYA’S TOURISM INDUSTRY RECORDS SUBSTANTIAL GROWTH IN 2017

(Posted 08th February 2018)

The Kenya Tourism Board has beat the regional competition to the finishing line when earlier today the organization released key data for 2017, indicating a rise in not just arrival numbers but even more so in revenues.
Notably did Uganda rise to the third position in terms of visitor source markets, after the United States which captured the lead from Britain which came second.
Tourism receipts for the first time in Kenya’s history came close to 120 billion Kenya Shillings, another record number and no doubt a relief for Kenya’ Central Bank as more hard currency inflows helped to offset growing import bills.

Other regional tourism boards are now challenged to equally provide their 2017 data, best in a similar format to allow regional comparison on sectoral performance.
