SPECULATION IS RIFE WHY CONTE LEAVES KENYA AIRWAYS PREMATURELY

News are coming in from Nairobi that Kenya Airways’ Commercial Director Vincent Coste has left the airline with immediate effect. It could not be ascertained if Coste was leaving on his own accord or if he was asked to leave.Coste joined Kenya Airways in late 2016 from a previous position as Senior Vice President at Qatar Airways but has served prior to that for several years in senior positions at KLM / Air France.
Speculation is rife in Kenya’s aviation and travel circles over the reasons of Conte’s departure with some pointing to the hitherto disappointing sales figures for the airline’s US flights which are due to be launched on the 28th of October.
Only days ago did Conte make his last public appearance when announcing the signing of an extensive codeshare deal with US carrier Delta, which is also part of the global SkyTeam alliance to which Kenya Airways belongs.
