NEW KENYAN GAME RESERVE ‘RIMOI‘ SET TO ATTRACT TOURISTS

#TembeaKenya – Kenya’s domestic tourism campaign slogan, but also visiting tourists will as of today have a new game reserve they can visit, after the Elgeyo Marakwet County Government and the Central Government of Kenya through the Kenya Wildlife Service have pulled out all the stops to have the new reserve commissioned before the Easter travel boom. The former game reserve in the same area, the Kerio Valley, had deteriorated to the point of no return a few years ago but concerted efforts, and a keen desire to be part of the new tourism boom Kenya expects, have led to the restoration and re-opening of the protected area.
Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala flew to the location, accompanied by among others one of Kenya’s award winning tour operator Minaz Manji, accompanied by Peter Ngori and Fred Kaigwa who came along for the ride to witness the occasion.
It is not every day that, even a country so richly endowed as Kenya is with wilderness areas, a new game reserve is launched and the location in the Kerio Valley is bound to attract both local as well as foreign visitors.
