Key partners in Reunion move closer to promote tourism to the island

REUNION’S TOURISM OFFICE ENTERS INTO PARTNERSHIP WITH ROLAND GARROS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

(Posted 16th September 2015)

Ile de la Reunion Tourisme, in short IRT and the island’s primary international airport, Roland Garros International, have a few days ago put pen to paper to ink a partnership deal, which is aimed to bring more international airlines and flights to Reunion.

Besides sharing data and information relevant to tourism and travel will the partners now embark to implement an incentive package for airlines already flying to the island while seeking new airlines, in particular from the rest of Europe outside France and the rest of the world to consider launching flight to Reunion.

A positive Visa regime, with waivers in place for citizens of South Africa, India and China, is thought to be a major supporting factor in making this happen.

The Tourism Federation of Reunion will work with the airport and IRT towards creating an even more welcoming arrival and departure experience for passengers flying to and from Reunion by establishing more user friendly reception desks while at the same time introducing new destination displays, the latter also bringing the Reunion National Parks into the partnership.

Joint marketing and sales activities will also see the Roland Garros Airport Company join hands with IRT when attending tourism trade fairs while mutual visibility will be increase on their respective websites, www.reunion.fr and www.reunion.airport.fr
