AURIC AIR ANNOUNCES KIGOMA FLIGHTS
(Posted 28th June 2016)
Auric Air, one of Tanzania’s most successful private air operators, yesterday announced that the airline will commence scheduled flights from Mwanza to Kigoma, a lakeside town on the shores of Lake Tanganyika, effective 09th of July.
The route will be served initially three times a week with a Cessna 208B Grand Caravan, every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Kigoma notably is he springboard to the Mahale National Park, which can be booked by passengers using the Kigoma service on inducement.
The new destination will further expand what is already the widest network of scheduled flights, thirty overall now, to domestic destinations across the Tanzanian mainland and the islands off the mainland of Pemba, Zanzibar (Unguja) and Mafia.
Auric is the only Tanzanian light aircraft airline to have attained the coveted Gold Safety Rating by the Flight Safety Foundation, the equivalent of larger commercial airlines attaining the IOSA certification after meeting all the requirement for BARS, short for Basic Aviation Risk Standards.
The new flights come just weeks after Auric launched scheduled services from Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar to the Selous Game Reserve, now reaching literally all key national parks and game reserves across East Africa’s largest country.
