#Kisumu airport closed for night operations to facilitate repairs

KISUMU OPEN FOR DAYLIGHT OPERATIONS ONLY UNTIL 28TH OF MARCH – NO FLIGHTS TODAY, 19TH MARCH

Travellers destined for the lake side city of Kisumu today better take notice, as the airport will remain closed today to prepare for major runway repair works as of tomorrow.

The Kenya Airport Authority has released information for passengers and the general public that works on the runway at Kisumu International Airport are being carried out at present to improve the aircraft operations infrastructure.

The civil works and widening of the runway will have now commences and will last at least until the 28th of March 2019.

During this period, the runway will be available for daylight flight operations from 06:45am to 07:00pm after which it will be closed for the scheduled works.

The runway will however remain closed all day on 19th March 2019. This is to allow for major preliminary works that will enable daytime flight operations on the subsequent days.

Any passengers planning to travel through Kisumu International Airport between 18th to 28th March 2019 should contact their respective airlines for further information of possibly changed arrival and departure times.
