Mozambique’s national airline LAM, short for Linhas Aereas de Mozambique, has announced a new flight which is to connect the capitals of both countries, Mozambique and Tanzania, effective 30th of July.
The service will route via the northern Mozambique city of Pemba.
The flight used to continue to Nairobi prior to the pandemic outbreak, using a B737 aircraft, but now seems to be restricted to just Dar es Salaam for the time being, though one aviation source said this is subject to review and demand as well as awaiting the reopening of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi.
It could not be established at this time which aircraft LAM will be using – they operate a mixed fleet of B737, E190 and Dash8-400NG’s – nor how often the airline will serve the route during the launch stage.
